Cultural Committee seeks fee waiver, announces "Northfield Shining Stars" talent show

Joan Brennan, representing the Cultural Committee, asked council to waive fees for an upcoming community talent show and proposed citywide yard sales to benefit the city. Brennan said the committee already has community interest and estimated about 25 participants for an initial citywide sale.
"They would be hosting a talent show on August 11th, 'Northfield Shining Stars' from 6:30pm until 9:00pm," Brennan said, and requested that fees be waived on behalf of the Cultural Committee. Councilman Notaro indicated the request would be handled as a resolution to waive fees; Councilwoman Carfagno suggested coordinating pick-up for items after sales to limit waste. No formal waiver was recorded during the work session; staff were instructed to place the resolution on the regular meeting agenda.
