Board approves MOU to host Texas State Teacher Fellows as certified teachers while they earn master's degrees

The Board unanimously approved an MOU with Texas State University’s Teacher Fellows program that permits Fellows who have completed student teaching to serve as the certified teacher-of-record while they pursue a master’s degree. Diana Greene, Director of Human Resources, presented the agreement on behalf of the Human Capital Development coordinator and said the program expands pathways to certification while supplying classroom staff.
Trustee Billy Moore moved and Trustee Matthew Mix seconded the approval; the motion carried unanimously. District staff will coordinate placements and ensure Fellows meet certification and clinical requirements under the district’s supervision.
