Dr. Nicole Poenitzsch, Superintendent of Bellville ISD, reported on culture and staffing at the agenda-review meeting. Poenitzsch said the district is fully staffed overall but described enrollment increases in special education that will require two additional paraprofessional positions—(one at OBP and one at OBI) to support student needs.
Poenitzsch also reviewed year-end data from Exit, Stay, & Entry surveys, previewed upcoming community committee recruitment and mini-convocation events at campuses, and reported district enrollment at 2,292 compared with 2,274 the prior year. The staffing additions and community engagement plans were presented as part of Goal 3 and Goal 4 reports.
