Council weighs $50,000 library audiovisual upgrade; cannabis fund suggested for pay

Councilors and staff discussed a proposed audiovisual (AV) system for the public library during the ICIP workshop. Mayor Robert Noblin mentioned an "audio-visual system approx. $50K at the library" as an item for consideration in the capital plan.
Councilor Frank F. Ortega suggested the Cannabis fund as a possible funding source: "we probably have money from our Cannabis fund that could possibly be used for that as well it's just a suggestion," he said. Greg Coon, speaking as staff, advised that "yes, it would be beneficial because right now they are rigging up a system which is not very good," arguing the upgrade would improve training and larger programming at the library.
The council did not take a formal vote on funding; the AV upgrade was presented as a candidate for inclusion in the ICIP list for further review by staff and council.
