The Bastrop ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Bastrop Sept. 17 that authorizes the city to perform building plan reviews, fire plan reviews and inspections for district construction projects located outside city limits. Lee Raspberry, the district's Director of Construction & Planning, told trustees the city already performs these services for sites inside the city and that extending the service will be more efficient than contracting third parties.
Trustee Matthew Mix moved for approval; Trustee Billy Moore seconded the motion, which passed without objection. The agreement is intended to streamline review and inspection workflows for upcoming construction projects and centralize code-related reviews with the city's inspection staff.
