Principals Report Enrollment, Attendance Rates and STAAR Prep Ahead of Testing

Elementary Principal Lacey Cruddas told the board Pre-K through fifth-grade enrollment is 186; average daily attendance (ADA) for March was 94.05% (February 94.8%). Cruddas said weekly walkthroughs provide feedback, STAAR Math and Science preparation has been integrated across subjects, and EC teachers and paraprofessionals are receiving training for autistic students. She noted the TIA application has been submitted and the district will learn the outcome in May.
Secondary Principal Dr. Bryan Hernandez reported grades six through twelve enrollment of 218 and March ADA of 91.31% (February 90.69%). Hernandez said roughly 60 students attended STAAR Blitz and STAAR Camp for ELAR and that STAAR Blitz and Math camp would begin the following day. He listed upcoming testing dates: Biology and U.S. History EOCs on April 23, 6th–8th Math on April 30, and Algebra I EOC on May 1. Hernandez also highlighted FCCLA Lifesmarts and Parliamentary teams advancing to national competitions.
