The Forest County Board of Commissioners voted Dec. 3 to advertise the proposed 2026 budget for public inspection for 20 days beginning Nov. 26, 2025.
The draft budget lists total income of $3,279,921.50 and total expenses of $3,595,444.18 and “represents a 1 millage rate increase,” the board record states. The motion to advertise was made by Commissioner Robert J. Snyder and seconded by Commissioner Patrick Kline; the motion carried unanimously.
The advertisement begins the statutory public inspection period and allows residents to review the proposed numbers and submit comments before final adoption. The minutes do not record a public hearing date or final adoption timeline; commissioners will need to set those dates in a future meeting.
