Aquilla ISD reports growth in P-TECH and dual-credit enrollment; PawPacks and safety measures discussed

The counselor's report documented current enrollment in P-TECH at 31 students and 39 students enrolled in dual-credit courses, which the minutes say is about 40% of the high school. The minutes state eight students are expected to receive associate degrees in May 2025. Career and military readiness were reported at 100%. The minutes additionally note 20 to 25 students participate in the PawPacks program, supported by donations from Our Daily Bread.
Superintendent David Edison reported recent sickness in the district and said vendor Balfour disinfected district facilities and buses; Balfour is contracted to return three times per year. The superintendent also noted a staff fitness challenge has returned since COVID and that a letter will be sent to English-language-learner families.
