The Aquilla Independent School District Board of Trustees voted on Jan. 27, 2025 to un-table and reject previously submitted bids for the district's fence project and to authorize the superintendent to negotiate adding the fence construction to the existing Baird-Williams bond contract.
The board un-tabled the item (motion by Will Pinner, second by Kevin Clepper) and then rejected the prior bids (motion by Kevin Clepper, second by Tamara Harrison); both votes passed unanimously. Later the board authorized the superintendent to negotiate with Baird-Williams to include the proposed fence work as a change order; the motion passed unanimously.
The minutes record the decision to use a change-order approach and do not include project costs or a new contract award. The board's authorization instructs the superintendent to proceed with negotiation and addition to the existing bond contract.
