During the public comment period Joan Brennan asked whether the Jersey Cow was paying for the outdoor seating on public sidewalks and suggested the City could ask the business to remove seating during summer months. Councilman Notaro said the seating had been approved by the Planning Board and labeled it part of the restaurant’s business operation.
Brennan also advocated eliminating the yard-sale permit fee, a suggestion supported by resident Mary Canesi, who said "the cost of the permit was nominal" and that fees are meant to offset staff tasks related to monitoring and tracking sales. Council President Bucci explained the permit system helps the City track events and discourage frequent, unregulated sales.
