Northfield Council approves consent agenda including FEMA BRIC grant applications and liquor-license renewals

The City of Northfield Common Council unanimously adopted a consent agenda June 9 covering Resolutions 161-2026 through 170-2026, including FEMA BRIC grant applications for the Office of Emergency Management and the Fire Department, liquor-license renewals and a contract authorization for race timing services.
Council President Bucci prefaced the item with a standard consent-agenda statement: "All matters listed under the consent agenda are considered to be routine in nature, and having been reviewed by Council, will be enacted by one motion." The packet of resolutions also authorized Schaeffer Nassar Scheidegg Engineers to proceed with engineering services tied to a proposed BRIC pump-station project and amended an earlier fireworks resolution under N.J.S.A. 21:3-3.
Councilwoman Carfagno moved, and Councilwoman Kern seconded, the motion to adopt the entire slate; a roll-call vote recorded all members present voting yes and the consent agenda carried. The resolutions include a certification of the annual audit (161-2026), acknowledgment of the resignation of Deputy Tax Collector Nadine Erwin (162-2026), liquor-license renewals (163- and 167-2026), a tax-cancellation and refund resolution under N.J.S.A. 54:4-3.30 and 54:4-3.32 (164-2026), and authorization to apply for BRIC funding (168-2026 and 170-2026).
