Danny described the Main Street allocation as funding repairs and maintenance — signage updates, lamp-post powder-coating, irrigation and planter repairs, bike rack replacement and exploring removal or replacement of nonworking drinking fountains — timed to anticipate major events such as the temple reopening and other city events.
On the Civic Center, Danny said the $2,200,000 would advance design work for proposed improvements. Regarding 500 West, staff explained these are Granary District funds with multi-appropriation history; the recommended uses reflect long-identified infrastructure priorities for 400–500 West and are presented now because funding was accumulated in earlier fiscal years.
Board members asked for clearer anticipated expenditures and questioned whether some funds should be used for basic street repairs citywide rather than project-area enhancements; staff said the Main Street package is meant to preserve CIP capacity for basic infrastructure elsewhere.
