The council opened a public hearing May 4 on a proposal to vacate a public waterline easement. Engineering Manager James Carothers presented the matter; Mayor Hogan opened the hearing at 7:57 p.m.; resident Darcy Smith provided testimony. The hearing was closed at 8:00 p.m.
Following the hearing, Council Member Marilyn Boerke moved and the motion was seconded to direct the City Attorney to draft a resolution authorizing the vacation of the public waterline easement. The motion carried unanimously. The City Attorney’s office was tasked with preparing a resolution for a future meeting where final approval and any required legal notices would be considered.
