Board President Jose M. Lopez reconvened the meeting in open session at 10:13 p.m. and the motion to hire Dr. Venus Vela was made by Mrs. J. Quintanilla and seconded by Mrs. D. Alegria; the board recorded the vote as 7–0. At the same meeting the board also approved the employment of Jacob Garza and Sofia Trevino and voted to rescind the resignation of Jenna Perez. The board approved one-year Chapter 21 contract renewals for administrative staff and probationary contracts for teachers for the 2026–2027 school year.
The action followed a closed-session review under Texas Government Code Chapters 551.071 and 551.074 of superintendent contract terms and personnel matters. The board announced upcoming district events and adjourned at 10:29 p.m.
