Police Chief Jeremy Bonikowske told trustees the department handled 17 calls for service; a newly hired officer identified as Kevin has begun patrol duties and the department issued one speeding citation. Chief Bonikowske said a civil suit regarding the Rose Street property is pending; a 30-day notice was issued and the matter is now with the village attorney and the property owner.
Fire Chief Troy Madland reported seven calls in February totaling 74 hours and a year-to-date total of 305 hours versus 142.5 hours at the same time last year. The department received a $22,000 grant from Ho-Chunk.
