The Blue Ridge ISD Board of Trustees on Jan. 21 adopted an order calling a bond election with Proposition A in the amount of $59,470,000 to be held May 3, 2025. Board Secretary John Gaulden moved the order and Gary Lillard seconded; the motion passed 6-0 with one member absent.
The board took the action after hearing a report earlier in the meeting from the district's Long Range Facility Planning Committee outlining proposed projects for a bond package. Board President Shelly Enloe presided over the vote; the district also scheduled a ballot position drawing if required on Feb. 24, 2025, as noted on the consent agenda.
"I move that the Board adopt an order calling a bond election with Proposition A in the amount of $59,470,000.00," said John Gaulden when making the motion. The district provided no project-by-project spending breakdown during the public portion of the meeting; committee members presented the bond proposal as background for the board's decision. The election order sets a clear next step and allows the district to proceed with required election preparations.
