Fort Lee approves multiple 2026 professional contracts: attorneys, engineers, auditors and consultants

The council approved numerous professional appointments and contracts for 2026 during the Jan. 6 meeting. Among them: Brian Chewcaskie of Cleary, Giacobbe, Alfieri, Jacobs, LLC was appointed Borough Attorney with a CFO certification not to exceed $219,650 (R-8); Wielkotz & Company, LLC was awarded municipal auditing services (CFO certification not to exceed $212,588; R-9); Boswell Engineering was named consulting engineer with a certified cap (R-10), and Neglia and Remington & Vernick were qualified on a case-by-case basis for engineering services.
Council also approved specialized legal counsel (bond counsel firms, tax counsel, conflict counsel and affordable housing counsel), appointed prosecutors and the public defender, and authorized grant consulting services to Millennium Strategies, LLC with a certified cap not to exceed $75,000 (R-32). Many of the contracts include CFO-certified “not to exceed” amounts recorded in the minutes.
