Board receives first readings of Education Philosophy (AE) and Curriculum Design (EH) policies

The Board received first readings of two proposed local policies. Deputy Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Collins said the Board Governance Committee had worked to draft Policy AE(Local) to better articulate the district's educational philosophy. Collins also introduced Policy EH(Local), a new policy to clarify written, taught and tested curriculum and to outline roles and responsibilities around curriculum design.
Both policies were presented for first reading so trustees could review language and offer feedback ahead of any subsequent readings or adoption votes. Staff indicated they would return with revised drafts after trustee input.
