Arlington ISD administrators presented the end-of-year academic screener report for pre-K through 2nd grade, showing early literacy and numeracy performance as a proxy while final STAAR outcomes remain pending. The minutes note that "Passed in 2019, HB 3 requires school boards to establish and monitor annual goals for reading and mathematics achievement."
Because STAAR results were not yet available at the time of the June 4 meeting, trustees reviewed screener data intended to inform early-intervention planning and goal-setting for elementary literacy and numeracy. Staff indicated these screeners will help shape interventions ahead of final accountability results.
