Arlington ISD board adopts $2026–27 budget covering general, debt service, child nutrition and capital funds

The Arlington Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously adopted the district's 2026'027 budgets for the General Fund, Debt Service Fund, Child Nutrition Fund and Capital Projects Fund following a public hearing that drew no speakers.
During the public hearing Chief Financial Officer Norberto Rivas conducted an overview of the proposed spending and tax-rate presentation. After the hearing, Trustee Brooklyn Richardson moved and Trustee Larry Mike seconded a motion "to approve as presented," which passed 7'0. The district will publish the adopted budget documents and next steps for implementation in accordance with state reporting requirements.
Board materials presented the budget alongside preliminary committee feedback on priorities including classroom instruction, special populations and capital maintenance. Trustees indicated they will continue conversations about timing and communication for capital projects related to previously discussed bond propositions.
