President Randy Schackmann presided as the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Board of Trustees adopted the district’s proposed 2024–25 budget during a special called public meeting that began at 6:01 p.m. Interim Chief Financial Officer Art Martin led the budget presentation; Trustee Kim Brady moved to approve Item 5B and Trustee Lleana Garza-Rojas seconded. The motion passed 7 in favor and 0 opposed.
The adoption follows routine review of year-end financials and a final amendment for 2023–24 that the board approved earlier on the consent agenda. The consent agenda the board approved 7–0 included: financial reports for the month ended June 30, 2024; certification of the 2024 appraisal rolls and the district’s estimated debt collection rate; and the 2023–2024 final budget amendment. The public portion of the budget presentation was opened for comment, and according to the minutes "no audience members requested to speak."
