Canutillo Independent School District trustees voted to approve the district’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) report following a brief public hearing on Oct. 22, 2024. Mrs. Cristy Pulley presented the FIRST information to the board; no members of the public offered comment during the hearing.
Trustee Mendoza moved to approve the FIRST report and Mrs. Barnes seconded. "Motion to approve made by trustee Mendoza, Second by Mrs. Barnes. All in favor, motion passes." The board recorded the motion as passed by unanimous voice vote among trustees present (Barnes, Mendoza, Rodriguez, Simental and Zuniga; Trustee Borrego absent).
The approval completes the district's routine annual review of its combined financial and accountability indicators under the state FIRST framework. District staff did not record additional board direction at the meeting and the item concluded following the vote.
