Burleson ISD board grants president temporary authority to approve hires

The Burleson Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Jan. 13 to give Board President Jerri McNair the authority to approve new professional hires until the board meets again in February. The motion was made by Mr. Michael Ancy and seconded by Mrs. Dallas Owen; the minutes state the board "grant[ed] the Board President the authority to approve new hires between now and the next Regular meeting in February."
Board members indicated the authorization is administrative and temporary; the minutes say the board will consider ratifying any hires at its next regular meeting. The vote was recorded as unanimous: Mr. Michael Ancy, Mrs. Jerri McNair, Mr. Shawn Minor, Mrs. Dallas Owen, Mr. Ryan Richardson and Ms. Pat Worrell voted yes. No dissenting votes were recorded.
