Mound campus designated a TEA Purple Star campus for military-connected students

School leaders told the Burleson ISD board that the Academy of Leadership and Technology at Mound Elementary has been designated a Purple Star campus by the Texas Education Agency for its supports to military-connected students and families. Principal Lindsey Muse said the campus has "159 military connected students at Mound which makes up 41 percent" and described designation requirements, including a campus military liaison, transition programming, website resources and staff training.
Mrs. Muse thanked Mound counselor Patricia Bush for her work on the designation and said the campus participates in Military Family Month activities and maintains a resolution of support for military families.
