Cheney staff report $75,000 CERB grant for industrial park and outline road projects

City staff told the Planning Commission on Feb. 9 that the city received a $75,000 Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) grant for the industrial park and is pursuing a separate downtown revitalization grant.
Building/Planning Manager Terry Mourning described the CERB grant as intended to better advertise and revitalize the industrial park. Todd Ableman said bids are out for the Elm Street road project and for a roundabout at 6th and Betz and that staff hope construction will start this summer. Ableman also noted staff transitions and that the city is pursuing school grants.
No formal funding approvals or contract awards were voted at the meeting; commissioners were informed of grant activity and pending procurement steps.
