Burleson ISD board grants president temporary authority to approve hires

After reconvening from a closed session on Feb. 10, 2025, the Burleson Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to give Board President Jerri McNair authority to approve new hires until the board’s next regular meeting in March. The motion (7663) was moved by Mrs. Staci Eisner and seconded by Mrs. Dallas Owen; the recorded vote was Ancy, Eisner, McNair, Owen, Richardson and Worrell in favor and none opposed.
The board had adjourned into closed session at 5:31 p.m. to consider personnel and other matters under the Texas Government Code and reconvened in open session at 6:42 p.m. The board’s action allows hiring decisions to proceed in the interim but specifies those hires will be presented to the full board for ratification at the March meeting.
