Chester ISD Board elects Wade Read president in reorganization

At its Nov. 18 meeting, Chester ISD’s Board of Trustees reorganized officers: Wade Read was elected president, Sam Handley vice president and Shawna Neal retained as secretary; nominations and unanimous votes were recorded after a trustee oath.
Wade Read was elected president of the Chester Independent School District Board of Trustees during the board's regular meeting on Nov. 18, 2024, after a nomination from Trustee Josh Clarke and a unanimous vote. Josh Clarke nominated Read for president; no other nominations were made and "the board unanimously approved Wade Read as Board President." Wade Read then took over as presiding officer.
The reorganization also selected Sam Handley as vice president and reaffirmed Shawna Neal as board secretary. Josh Clarke nominated Handley for vice president and moved that Neal remain as secretary; both nominations were approved unanimously. The reorganizations followed the swearing-in of newly elected trustee Timber Wright and the departure of outgoing trustee Bryan Martin from the meeting.
