The Chester Independent School District Board of Trustees on Oct. 21 unanimously approved a $180,184.00 proposal from Sword Company to repair and replace exterior glass doors and storefront, to be paid from safety grant funds and procured through TIPS Contract #210205. Trustee Wade Read moved for approval, and Trustee Sam Handley seconded the motion.
Board members did not discuss an alternate funding source at the meeting; the motion as presented authorizes the district to proceed with the door and storefront work using the identified safety grant funding. As recorded in the minutes, "Wade Read moved to approve the $180,184.00 proposal from Sword Company for repair/replacement of exterior glass doors/storefront using safety grant funds under TIPS Contract # 210205."
