The Chapel Hill ISD Board approved contracts for replacement of the high school cafeteria flooring, awarding the work to Apex Flooring Services with ERI Consulting for $106,315.30.
Chris Blake, Executive Director of Operations, said the project was included in the Facility Cycle Expense Plan and was needed because the existing flooring had reached the end of its useful life. Two proposals were received and reviewed; the evaluation found Apex Flooring Services offered the best value based on price and a demonstrated record of work on district projects. The motion to approve the contract passed 5-0.
Facilities staff will coordinate scheduling to complete the replacement with minimal disruption to cafeteria operations.
