The Chapel Hill ISD Board unanimously approved out-of-state travel for junior high Technology Student Association (TSA) students to attend the TSA National Competition in Washington, D.C., scheduled for June 22-26, 2026.
William McBride, junior high TSA advisor, reported that the chapter competed at the state competition in Fort Worth on April 9-11, 2026; six junior high students placed first in the Community Service Video event and qualified for nationals. The travel approval passed on a 5-0 vote (motion by Martin Ibarra, seconded by Fred Elder Jr.; two trustees absent).
The board's approval enables students to participate in the national event and represent the district; staff will finalize travel logistics and report back as required by district procedures.
