Center ISD rolls out Stay Safe Speak Up reporting system for students and staff

Lindsay Montario, CISD RN coordinator, told the School Health Advisory Council on May 6 that the district has instructed all employees and students on how to use the Stay Safe Speak Up reporting system.
"The software is to report bullying, issues that someone has heard might happen on a campus or at the district or if someone sees a weapon or hears that someone is bringing a weapon to the district or on a campus or notices unsafe behaviors or situations," Montario said, describing the types of incidents the platform is intended to capture. Montario also provided an overview of how students, employees and community members can access the system.
The council was given the overview as part of regular business; the transcript records that instruction was provided districtwide but does not specify follow-up measures, adoption timeline beyond training, or metrics for usage. The district did not present usage data or a reporting dashboard at this meeting. The council did not take a formal vote on the item.
