The Bishop Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees voted Oct. 28 to use interlocal contracts to procure a range of goods and services tied to ongoing facilities and program needs. Trustees approved use of interlocal contracts for weight room equipment and flooring, playgrounds, vehicles, maintenance equipment and buses, security cameras, classroom furniture and auditorium curtains. Trustee Judy Murdoch moved the motion and Trustee Rey Longoria seconded; the motion passed unanimously (VOTE: AYE - 6; NAY - 0).
Utilizing interlocal contracts allows the district to purchase equipment and services using competitively procured contracts available through cooperative purchasing interlocal agreements. The minutes record approval of the list of project categories but do not identify specific vendors, contract names, or dollar amounts.
