Mrs. LaKeisha LeBlanc and Dr. Johnny O'Connor, Dean of Lamar University, described the district's strategic partnership with Lamar University, including an Educational Leadership Doctorate program with a Channelview cohort of 13 participants. The presenters said the partnership provides scholarship and professional learning opportunities and supports leadership development aligned with the CISD five‑year strategic plan.
The presentation also noted expanded pathways for aspiring educators and family literacy resources available through Lamar's Nancy Evans Reading Center. The board acknowledged the collaboration and extended appreciation to Lamar University faculty and leadership for their ongoing support.
