Forney ISD accepts PTO donations and recognizes students and a community honoree

During opening business on Dec. 16 the Forney ISD Board accepted donations from the Griffin PTO and the Johnson PTO. Kristin Zastoupil, Executive Director of Communications, presented the items; Becky Dobbs moved to accept the Griffin PTO donation and Hanna Bateman seconded (vote 5-0). Bateman then moved to accept the Johnson PTO donation and Michael Idemudia seconded (vote 5-0).
The board also recognized student achievements — State Fair of Texas awards and the State Marching Band — with presentations by Sarah Smith and Mario Luna. Kristin Zastoupil presented the Forney Family Legacy Award to Kathy Green. These recognitions and the donation acceptances were recorded in the minutes; no dollar amounts or award specifics were included in the public minutes.
