Commissioners approve annexation of 45.937 acres to City of Findlay

Hancock County commissioners on Feb. 24 approved Resolution #109-26 granting a petition to annex 45.937 acres near the intersection of State Route 224 and County Road 237 in Marion Township to the City of Findlay. Phil Johnson told the board that the application was filed in petition form and must be processed under O.R.C. Section 709.022; he said the required steps had been met and the commissioners therefore approved the annexation by a 3-0 vote (motion by William Bateson; second by Timothy Bechtol).
Commissioner Cindy Land noted that the expedited annexation process affords no discretion to the board and that, once approved, the City of Findlay will have 120 days to act on the petition. The action was recorded as Resolution #109-26 in the meeting minutes; no immediate conditions or amendments were placed on the annexation during the session.
