The Flatonia I.S.D. board approved the district's 2026–2027 compensation plan, encompassing multiple employee groups and a stipend schedule that includes placeholders for a Cafeteria Supervisor and a Maintenance Supervisor.
The approved teacher/nurse/librarian schedule provides a step plus $480 for employees with less than 24 years' experience and a step plus $750 for those with 24 years' experience and above. The paraprofessional schedule includes a step plus $350. The auxiliary/hourly and professional/administrative pay schedule was set at 2.5% of midpoint for hourly employees and $7.18 per day for professional/administrative staff (the stated average per-day teacher raise). "Blanca Villanueva moves the Board to Approve the 2026-2027 Flatonia I.S.D. Compensation Plan...as presented," the minutes record. The motion was seconded by Christina Manzano and passed 5-0.
Business Manager Rodney Stryk said the stipend additions are not currently tied to specific employees but approving the scale now allows the district to assign stipends later as needed. Trustees said the plan reflects discussions from the May 12 budget workshop and an effort to be equitable across employee groups.
