The Ferris ISD Board of Trustees on Nov. 4, 2024 announced the appointment of Maria Elena Ramirez to an open trustee seat following interviews conducted in closed session. The special called meeting began at 6:02 p.m. at 301 East Fifth Street in Ferris and a quorum was present.
Board members moved the agenda item to closed session under the Texas Open Meetings Act and related Government Code sections listed on the posted notice. After the closed session the board reconvened to open session on a motion by Misty Koerkenmeier, seconded by Nancy Salmon; that motion "carried unanimously."
