OnSite Partners says it closed One Energy sale, plans local hires and to resume projects

Representatives of OnSite Partners met with Hancock County commissioners at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 19 to announce that OnSite completed the purchase of One Energy on Feb. 13, 2026. Dan Smies, who introduced himself as representing OnSite Partners, said the company has already reemployed 15 former One Energy staff members and hopes to grow to roughly 50 employees at the local site. "The sale closed on February 13, 2026," Smies said.
Smies told the board OnSite intends to resume construction on projects that were started and left unfinished in early 2025 and to pursue additional solar and wind operations in the area. He acknowledged community resentment toward the prior owner and said OnSite will prioritize community engagement and different business alignments. Commissioners welcomed the company and expressed interest in looking forward rather than dwelling on past conflicts.
