Hancock County commissioners approve payroll, warrant journals and a slate of fiscal resolutions

Hancock County Commissioners voted unanimously Feb. 19 to approve routine administrative business, including minutes from Feb. 17, payroll for the Job and Family Services (JFS) and commissioners' offices, and two warrant journals. The board recorded motions by Commissioner William Bateson and seconding by Commissioner Tim Bechtol; all procedural items passed 3-0.
The board then approved four fiscal resolutions presented by the clerk. Resolution #97-26 appropriates additional funds to the Veterans Service Trust Fund (#2152). Resolution #98-26 transfers $25,485.21 from the Hotel/Motel fund (#8047) to the General Fund (#1001) for fourth-quarter 2025 fees. Resolutions #99-26 and #100-26 enact an appropriation to the Enforcement and Education Fund (#2079) and an intra-fund transfer within General Fund #1001 for the sheriff's office, respectively. "Resolution #98-26 transfers of $25,485.21 represent the Auditor's quarterly administration of bed-tax fees," the clerk explained when presenting the item.
The actions were procedural and recorded as passed without dissent. No board member requested further study or public hearings on these items during the session. The board moved next to several capital and contract matters on the agenda.
