New maintenance plan aims to lift curb appeal and fix irrigation issues at Fabens ISD

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," he told the board when describing the philosophy behind the new monitoring approach.
Trustees raised specific concerns about weeds and tree growth near the former junior high/annex and persistent irrigation problems at athletic fields. Administration confirmed warranty coverage for well equipment, said the vendor was contacted, and described near-term mitigation (alternative watering methods and additional sprinkler heads) while longer‑term solutions and training (Texas A&M turf/irrigation specialists) are scheduled. The board directed staff to follow up on lease boundaries for offsite parcels and to provide a timeline for repairing irrigation systems and sand separator effectiveness.
