Superintendent Nicci Cook presented the district's progress monitoring overview (Progress Measures 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 and Guardrails 1, 2 and 3) and reviewed preliminary STAAR results for end-of-course high school exams and grades 3'8. Mrs. Cook told trustees the first Long-Range Planning Committee meeting took place June 8 and that the Budget Workshop is tentatively scheduled for August 11. She also reminded staff that cybersecurity training is due June 30, 2026.
Cook reported there were no changes to the 2026' 2027 extracurricular handbook and reiterated the district previously opted out of SB 401 for homeschool UIL participation in August 2025; board action would only be required if the district chose to opt in. The minutes do not include numeric STAAR score details; the board reviewed preliminary scores in the meeting packet as recorded in the minutes.
