The Fort Sam Houston ISD Board approved a broad set of personnel items covering new probationary contracts, non-certified hires, extended school year staff and multiple reassignments for the 2024–25 year. The public minutes list dozens of appointments and personnel movements — including classroom teachers, special education staff, counselors and support personnel — with effective dates largely in August 2024.
The closed-session personnel list published in the minutes included certified hires such as Lydia Ayala (Fifth Grade Teacher), Melissa Brieden-Craven (Pre-K teacher), and several Special Education Cooperative staff, along with non-certified appointments and extended school year staff. Reassignments and role changes across campuses and cooperative programs were also recorded. The Board returned to open session and announced that no closed-session items required a vote when called back to public session; multiple personnel items were noted as "no action required" in the published record but were included in the personnel packet and subsequent public minutes.
