The Hancock County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution #90-26 authorizing change order #1 to the contract with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) for environmental remediation tied to the Findlay River Benching Project (DEV - 2024-208401). Phil Johnson told the board that discovery of extensive glass on the site required additional remediation and testing.
The change order adds $24,499.50 to the original $95,000 contract, bringing the contract total to $119,499.50. Commissioners voted to approve the change order 3-0 (motion by William Bateson, seconded by Timothy Bechtol). The project work broadly concerns land north of the Blanchard River and east and west of North Main Street in Findlay.
Board members recorded the added cost and the reason for the change order; staff will proceed with the amended contract with CEC.
