The Hancock County Board of Commissioners publicly opened bids Feb. 12 for interior renovations to the Hancock County Treasurer's office. One bid was submitted: ACI Construction Co., Inc. returned a base bid totaling $560,313.56, exceeding the architect's $300,000 estimate and more than 10% over that figure.
RCM Architects, which prepared the project documents, will gather information from bidders and consult with the board on options. The project manual lists a 77-calendar-day completion period in the base bid and requires bidders to comply with prevailing wage rules under the Ohio Department of Commerce. The bid package includes standard contract-bond requirements under Ohio Revised Code Section 153.571.
At the opening, county staff and consultants noted the bid exceeds the architect estimate; commissioners did not award the contract at the meeting and directed staff to return with additional procurement options. The base bid from ACI was signed by Matt Leonard, VP of Estimating.
