GISD honors students and staff; boys cross country posts best GHS state finish

The board recognized junior-high artwork, Leopard Pride Students of the Month across campuses, honored employee and teachers of the month, and celebrated the boys cross country team's advance to state with the best team finish in GHS history.
At the Nov. 18 meeting, Gainesville ISD trustees recognized student creativity and staff contributions. Art teacher Melissa Knight described student projects including Tim Burton–inspired self-portraits, Papel Picado flags and Pop Art candy-wrapper studies that were displayed in the meeting.
The board named Leopard Pride Students of the Month from each campus and honored Dulce Morales (ESL paraprofessional) as Employee of the Month and Megan Stephens (third grade) and Sarah Welch (sixth grade) as Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Month, respectively. Trustees also recognized the boys cross country team's advancement to the state meet and noted the team recorded the best team finish in Gainesville High School history.
