Gainesville ISD earns "A" (Superior) on 2023–24 FIRST financial rating

Gainesville Independent School District received an "A" (Superior) rating on the 2023–24 Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST), district finance director Dr. Jon Hill told the board on Nov. 18.
"Gainesville ISD received a rating of 'A' (Superior) on the 2023-2024 Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) report," Hill said, noting the district earned 95 out of 100 points. The score reflects analysis of staff and student data reported for the 2022–23 school year and the district's 2022–23 fiscal data.
The superintendent, Dr. Des Stewart, told trustees the district has maintained a superior achievement rating every year since FIRST began in 2002. Officials said the rating reflects the district's financial management and reporting systems and that the district will continue working toward the full 100 points by addressing phased-in indicators in the rating system.
