Trustees unanimously appoint Bill Joyce as interim Village President

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Steger unanimously appointed Trustee Bill Joyce as interim Village President at its April 7, 2025 meeting. The motion to nominate Joyce was made by Trustee Perchinski and seconded by Trustee Trotier; Trustees Thurmond, Stewart, Trotier, Joyce and Perchinski voted aye on the roll call.
Interim Village President Bill Joyce thanked attendees and the candidates who ran in the election, and urged the public to support the eventual winner once vote totals are certified on April 22. Joyce also announced that the board will hold a meeting for newly elected officials at the Community Center on May 5. "What I'd like to say is, I'd like to thank all the candidates that ran in the election," Joyce said. The appointment fills the vacant village president seat pending completion of the election process.
