Texas SARA contact reports full participation, flags provisional-status disclosure requirement

Dr. Mehar, the Texas point of contact for the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA), told LTAC the June SARA forum had high participation and reminded institutions that as of July 1 those on provisional SARA status must disclose the reason on their websites.
Dr. Mehar, the Texas SARA state portal contact, told the Learning Technologies Advisory Committee that participation in May and June SARA reporting reached full participation and that the forum held June 18 addressed both basic and advanced topics for institution contacts. "I believe we had 100% participation again," Mehar said, thanking institutions for the data submissions that inform national distance-education reporting.
Mehar warned of a July 1 change affecting institutions on provisional SARA status: they must post the reason for that status on their institutional websites. She offered to help craft the required language and distributed follow-up materials and checklists to participants. She also noted that regional steering committees are voting on policy proposals and that Texas will host the State Portal Entity conference in San Antonio next month.
