Board elects Travis Elizalde president; new officers sworn in

Travis Elizalde was elected president of the Broaddus ISD Board of Trustees during the board's Nov. 14 regular meeting, a reorganization that drew unanimous support from trustees.
Pete Mancill moved to elect Travis Elizalde as board president; the motion was seconded by Jathan Green and passed Yea 7, Nay 0. The board then elected Jathan Green as vice president (motion by Micha Miller, seconded by Brock Weatherford) and Michael Sowell as secretary (motion by Jathan Green, seconded by Doug Sowell); each motion passed unanimously. Scharla Haley administered the oaths of office for trustees Micha Miller, Jathan Green, Brock Weatherford and Michael Sowell earlier in the meeting.
Board members who participated in the votes were Travis Elizalde, Jathan Green, Pete Mancill, Micha Miller, Doug Sowell, Michael Sowell and Brock Weatherford. The reorganization was recorded on the meeting agenda under the board's reorganization item and concluded with the formal vote tallies reported in open session.
