The Garner Independent School District Board of Trustees disbanded the outgoing board and appointed the superintendent as temporary chairperson during its Nov. 20, 2024 regular meeting. The motion to disband and name the superintendent as temporary chairperson was made by Clay Youngblood and seconded by John Bradberry; the motion passed (Yea: 6, Nay: 0, Absent: 1).
Following the temporary appointment, trustees conducted officer elections. John Bradberry nominated Clay Youngblood for president; Brandi Horton moved to elect Youngblood and John Bradberry seconded. The motion to elect Clay Youngblood as Board President passed (Yea: 5, Nay: 0, Abstain (Without Conflict): 1). Brandi Horton was elected Secretary and John Bradberry was elected Vice President; the minutes record the requisite motions, seconds, and vote tallies.
